Eglinton West Station Design Win
The HDR/Halcrow team has won the commission to design a key station on the new Eglinton light rail line in Toronto. Billings Jackson will be responsible for industrial design, including furniture and components throughout the station.
The contract, worth C$10,000,000 and awarded by the Toronto Transit Commission, forms part of Toronto’s Transit City Plan that aims to introduce a Crosstown light rail line running from Scarborough Town Centre in the east to Pearson International Airport in the west. Phase I of the Crosstown Light Rail Transit line comprises 19km of track and 27 stations, 12 of which are underground.
Eglinton West in one of these stations and will form a key interchange with the existing Yonge-University-Spada subway.
