Infection control is obviously one of the greatest challenges faced by the healthcare sector. Campaigns to improve standards - for example by regular handwashing - are undermined by the familiarity of the signage to patients, clinicians and visitors over time, which lead to them being ignored. The concept is a simple one: as well as enhancing the physical graphics, a sensor would trigger a text/SMS reminder upon entry to the hospital.
