Personal Effects Bag
This concept arose from an investigation into 'end of life' care within the NHS. It was recognised that there were no clear protocols for the return of patients' possessions in the event of their deaths. This was exacerbating the stress already surrounding this difficult time - both for NHS staff and for next-of-kin. The Personal Effects Bag was designed as a low-cost, neutral and culturally acceptable enclosure to lend dignity to what is often the last contact between hospital and bereaved.
